King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 11,500 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London.

The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.

King’s College Hospital has a large Therapy department with 250+ therapists from Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Each service is organised under a Head of Profession with a Director of Therapies heading up the service and representing Therapies across the Trust. The department has a well-established tradition of supervision and appraisal which ensures all staff are given opportunities to develop skills and knowledge and to reach their full potential.

These posts are based at Princess Royal and Orpington Hospitals where the Occupational Therapy Service is valued highly across all specialities. Posts at all bands are based across both the PRUH and Orpington Sites as part of the Kings College NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated HCPC registered occupational therapist to join our comprehensive rotational scheme. The rotation posts are 6 months in duration and offer the opportunity to increase clinical skills and knowledge in a wide variety of clinical areas across many physical health specialities.

  • Medicine for Elderly
  • Cardiology / Coronary Care Unit
  • General Medicine
  • Trauma & Orthopaedics
  • General Surgery
  • Elective Surgery / Surgical Assessment Unit
  • Elective Orthopaedics
  • Health and Aging
  • Stroke
  • Neuro Rehabilitation
  • Health and Ageing Rehabilitation Unit

There is a strong commitment towards continuous professional development, a new in-service training programmes, team journal clubs as well as access to supervision from experienced Occupational Therapists.

The post holder requires a flexible approach to working and to undertake weekend working commitments as required.
