We are seeking a well organised individual to join our busy Finance Team to efficiently manage our purchase ledger function.

Providing a wide range of care and support to people with life limiting illnesses and their families, we have cared for 1,555 patients across all of our services during the last year alone. Our services are leading edge; enabling people to access the support and care they need to live well for as long as possible and die with dignity in the place of their choice.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Team at Isabel Hospice and to support the Head of Finance and Finance Officer. You will be processing incoming invoices, monitoring compliance with internal approvals using Sage and WAP our electronic invoice approval system, preparing payment runs, assisting with supplier queries and carrying out other month end reporting requirements. The Accounts Payable Assistant will also be required to carry out regular supplier statement reconciliations and process incoming finance mail and emails in a timely manner. There will also be a requirement to maintain a small sales ledger (around a dozen transactions per month).

This is a busy role and we are seeking someone who can manage their time effectively in order to meet strict and often challenging deadlines. You will also need to be an excellent communicator and able to work well as part of a team. Attention to detail and the ability to enter data accurately is essential and a good knowledge of Excel. Prior experience in a similar role and an AAT qualification or other similar accounting qualification or studying towards this would be desirable, as well as knowledge of Sage. However, we would be interested to hear from candidates who can demonstrate good organisation and time management skills and a methodical/structured approach to work with some previous experience in a finance role.
