Job Reference: 412-CORP-438

Employer:
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Department:
Administration
Location:
Crewe
Salary:
£21,089 to £23,761 pa

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. We are the Lead Employer for Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) which aims to transform, develop and deliver health care services in the community.

The Trust has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following the recent inspection of its services and leadership and Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust has been named a Top40 hospital at CHKS Top Hospital Awards 2019.

Our clinical facilities are excellent, as we have invested in state of the art theatres, Critical Care, Emergency Department and our Childrens Wards (to name but a few). We have also invested in our people, ensuring we have the right number of the right people delivering care, fostering a culture of compassion, support and excellence.

Following an NHSI initiative to establish 29 Pathology networks across England the University Hospital of North Midlands is currently working closely with Mid and East Cheshire NHS Trusts to establish a Pathology network across Staffordshire and Cheshire.

We are looking for someone exceptional to join our Board Secretariat, an elite squad of Personal Assistants, who work tirelessly, behind the scenes to support the Trust’s Executive Directors and ensure the smooth running of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an opportunity to try something new, in a high profile team with no commitment as this is for a six month fixed term post.

Our Board Secretariat sits at the beating heart of our Trust. As part of this team, you’ll get a unique point of view in the running of an acute hospital Trust. There’s not much our Board Secretariat don’t know, therefore you’ll need to be confidential and sensitive to information, able to exercise discretion and to uphold high professional and ethical standards at all times.

It’s a short term post to give a bit of extra support to the team so you will need to hit the ground running and you will already have experience of being a Personal Assistant. You’ll be working for our team of seven Executive Directors, but providing particular support to the Medical Director and the Director of Strategic Partnerships.

You will need to be charming and personable and build a positive relationship with the Executive Directors by responding to their busy workloads and quickly building up trust and confidence in you and your work. We’re not going to pretend…it’s not easy being a PA!

It’s a busy role. You’ll be constantly juggling workloads and competing priorities (at least you’ll never be bored.) You’ll need to be able to organise and plan work effectively. You’ll be approachable, professional and motivated. You will be expected to work (and think) independently, to resolve problems and be proactive. You’ll need to be reliable, calm and unflappable.

You must be a confident communicator as you will be dealing with senior managers, patients and other stakeholders. We’ll call on your efficient personal and customer service skills daily. You’ll need a good level of IT proficiency including Microsoft Office suite with particular emphasis on Outlook, Word and Powerpoint. It’s a given that you’ll know how to take detailed meeting notes and translate this into action points, to deliver against agreed deadlines, as well as drafting correspondence that is professional and in line with requirements.

We are offering a competitive salary of £20,150 to £23,363 pro-rata depending on your experience. The role is Monday to Friday 9-5.

This could be the most challenging and rewarding job you’ll ever try!
