We are seeking experienced doctors to join the organisation to support the delivery of the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) service for West Essex. HUC offers a supportive, enjoyable, team-based culture.

Who are we?

HUCprovides accessible and high quality Integrated Urgent Healthcare services in the east. When patients are ill and need the right medical attention, they can phoneNHS111provided by HUC to access medical advice, assessment and treatment. We also provide a range of other healthcare services to support patients and GPs, including Extended Access services across West Essex, running GP practices and urgent care centres.

The Role:

As part of the Extended Access team, you will support HUC to deliver an evening and weekend GP service, which will be run from Epping, Great Dunmow, Harlow, Loughton, Ongar, Saffron Walden, Stanstead and Waltham Abbey.

The timings across the region for these sessions are as below, but different bases are open at different times:

Weekdays : 1830-2200

Weekends : 0800- 2000

This service offers pre-booked appointments to provide better access to primary care for patients.

GPs working in this service will have direct access to patients notes using SystmOne or EMIS.

As part of a 24/7 multidisciplinary teamwithin the IUC, you can work hours which include weekdays, evenings, weekends and overnights. All visiting shifts will be accompanied by a driver.

There are various session roles that can be booked:

Visiting/Base/Triage -available fromEpping, Great Dunmow & Harlow.

Redeye- This is the overnight session for GPs based in Harlow, from 23:00-08:00.

CAS/111 Triage-This session is a dedicated GP resource based in our contact centre in Welwyn Garden.

Out of Hours and Clinical HUB Triage- a dedicated GP resource to support with the clinical telephone triage of patients.
