Are you looking to start your journey in NHS Management? If yes, this role is for you. This role will give you the opportunity to learn all the basic aspects of NHS management including HR Management, Capacity & Demand, Medical Job Plans and Performance Management.


This is a new role and ideal for an individual with experience within the NHS who now wants to commence their journey as a NHS Manager.


General Surgery is a complex sub-Division with many sub-specialties to manage therefore giving the successful applicant the opportunity to learn many different aspects of managing a complex area. The role will support the Service Manager and Support manager in General Surgery to deliver the objectives of the sub-Division.


The post holder will support the Support manager in managing the administrative team and support in ensuring effective service delivery including monitoring performance targets. A key requirement of the job is to organise workload with the Consultants/clinical teams and co-ordinate their activities to ensure that an efficient service is provided. The post holder will be expected to monitor and assess workload amongst the team, including being able to identify and step-in to fill gaps, to ensure continuity of services. It is essential that the post holder is able to exercise initiative suitable to the role and is fully supportive to other colleagues in the administrative team.
