12 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship
We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 2 Healthcare Support Services Apprenticeship Programme within the duration of the placement.

The Pharmacy Department undertakes the ordering, receipt and supply of medicines to all wards and departments throughout the Trust and also to many external units. This includes dispensing for inpatients, outpatients and discharge medication and also ward stocks averaging around 2,500 items a day. There is also a large Preparative Services Unit manufacturing and supplying TPN, chemotherapy, extemporaneous preparations and radiopharmaceuticals and associated Quality Control/ Assurance laboratories.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Pharmacy Housekeeper to join our team providing support for the busy Pharmacy Department.

As the successful candidate you will be required to provide a general housekeeping service including cleaning of equipment, tidiness in all areas, sorting, storing and disposing of medicines and ensuring adequate stocks of stationery and sundries.

This is a busy and exciting post and you will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills and be willing to undertake further training. Experience of working in a health care setting would be advantageous.

Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants must be:
· Aged 16+
· Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
· Must not have a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above
· Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education

Qualifications and Skills Required:
· Good general standard of education
· 4 GCSE’s at Grade C/D or above (or equivalent) PLEASE CHECK JD to confirm
· Good standard of literacy and numeracy
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Good IT skills

Hours of work: 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
