Liverpool Women’s Hospital clinical services are currently being reviewed by NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group, following work done by our clinicians in presenting a powerful case for change in the Future Generations Strategy.

We are advertising for a replacement Consultant Gynaecologist with advanced laparoscopic surgery skills to complement our existing Consultant workforce. The successful candidate will play a key role in the endometriosis service which includes an established MDT and joint lists with colorectal and urological surgeons. Evidence of advanced training in laparoscopic surgery is essential. We are an accredited BSGE endometriosis center. There are active research links with the University of Liverpool. An interest in Reproductive Medicine would be an advantage but not essential.

As our name suggests we specialise in the health of women and their babies - both within the hospital and out in the community. We are one of only two such specialist trusts in the UK - and the largest women’s hospital in Europe. Our team represents some of the most outstanding expertise and experience in the field. Our maternity team cares for women and their babies from conception to birth – delivering approximately 20 babies every day (8500 a year on average). Our neonatal team provide specialist care for premature and new born babies.

Our renowned Hewitt Fertility Centre helps families to improve their chance of conceiving babies. In gynaecology, we take care of women with the many varied conditions associated with the female reproductive system and are the regional center for gynaecology oncology. Our genetics team supports families with the diagnosis and counselling of genetic conditions.
