LED ST3+ Respiratory Medicine

Applications are invited for a Locally Employed Doctor (LED) ST3+ in Respiratory Medicine at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. This post is a temporary fixed term post commencing August 2019 to cover a rotational gap on the rota within Respiratory Medicine.

The department of Respiratory Medicine is part of the Medicine and Emergency Care Division. The successful candidate will join the existing team to provide comprehensive respiratory services to the local population. Respiratory Medicine is responsible for one acute ward and supports the in-patient population on the general medical take. The main duties of the successful candidate will include the management of inpatients on the respiratory ward.

Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) is carried out on the 32 bedded Respiratory Ward and there are also facilities to commence NIV within the Emergency Department.

The Respiratory Service at Mid Cheshire undertakes outpatient clinics at Leighton Hospital and the Victoria Infirmary. The successful candidate will review patients in the general respiratory clinics. They will also support the lung cancer clinics, and attend the Sector lung cancer MDT.

Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) is carried out on the 32 bedded respiratory ward and there are also facilities to commence NIV within the Emergency Department.

The Department of Respiratory Medicine provides a full diagnostic service involving CT scanning, bronchoscopy, lung function testing, MR imaging and lymph node FNA.

There is also a purpose built and very active Post Graduate Medical Centre at Leighton Hospital. The Centre has a well-equipped lecture theatre with internet facilities and a library.

Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice.
