Band 6 – Clinical Nurse Specialist Adult Spinal Deformity

This position is Fixed Term- 12 months (to cover maternity leave)

37.5 hour/week

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced nurse to join our dedicated progressive spinal service team. You will work as part of the team providing specialist nursing care for patients with spinal deformity to support patients and their family, throughout the care pathway.

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation prides itself in being one of the best providers in the country of both routine and specialist orthopaedic services. We are also a leading specialist centre for bone and soft tissue cancers and spinal surgery.

You will provide specialist care, information and support to adult patients and act as a resource for other professionals. You will employ a high degree of professional autonomy and make critical judgments using expert knowledge, skills and experience in order to provide the highest standard of holistic care to our patients. As an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring continuity of care having regular patient contact for the purpose of assessment, monitoring throughout the patient care pathway

The successful applicant will have post registration experience within an acute setting, significant experience. Have excellent communication skills, be able manage complex and difficult clinical care needs and work as part of wider services team.This post offers excellent training opportunities, working with a range of spinal deformity surgeons and experts.

He/she must have the willingness and ability to undertake self-directed learning, a commitment to delivering patient focused services of the highest quality and the determination and vision to continue to develop the service provided by the Spinal Deformity Service in meeting our patients’ needs.
