Superintendent Radiographer | Radiography | Band 6/7 depending on experience | Southampton | 37.5 hours a week

Spire Southampton Hospital have an opportunity for a qualified Radiographer to join the department to take the highly specialist lead role as Superintendent Radiographer – X-Ray.

This is a role primarily covering general x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound and mammography. Added to that Spire Southampton perform complex cases that only a handful of hospitals throughout the country perform (e.g. Scoliosis and kyphosis correction, prostate artery embolisation and chemoembolisation), so you will have an opportunity to be part of this and further develop your knowledge.

Our modern and immaculate hospitals each have a full multi-disciplinary medical team onsite. There they practice some of the most advanced treatments on the latest generation imaging, and diagnostic technology. This means we can offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, cardiology and cancer care - all delivered through our expert and caring clinical teams.

Spire Southampton Hospital offers comprehensive private hospital treatments, procedures, tests and scans. We are proud to run six operating theatres, including our state of the art robotic theatre. We have over eighty spacious and comfortable bedrooms for your recovery, with additional critical care beds following complex surgery. Our dedicated paediatric ward allows specialist and focused care for children and their families. From our Admissions ward, ensuring patients have only a small wait between admission and surgery to our elite Physiotherapy Centre – Perform, to look after your rehabilitation. Our aim is to offer an excellent patient journey from beginning to end.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of radiographers, assistant practitioners and assistants to ensure that they are meeting patients and Consultants expectations
  • Resourcing and managing staff levels
  • Day to day operational issues within the imaging department

Who we're looking for:

  • HCPC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Leadership and management experience
  • X-Ray experience
  • Proactive attitude to learning and developing
