The Pulmonary rehab team is looking for a part time (18 hrs-23hrs) Pulmonary Rehab Physiotherapist Band 6 to join our dynamic team based at Nevells Road Health Centre in Letchworth. The NHS long term plan references Pulmonary Rehab as an area for expansion and East and North Herts CCG are fully committed to the development of the service.

This position could be suitable for a Physiotherapist who has had experience working at a band 5 Physiotherapist level and wishes to progress into a Band 6. The post will involve running pulmonary rehab classes at various venues in East & North Herts with support from senior staff as required.

In addition, the role will also involve seeing patients on a one to one basis for breathing re-education, self-management advice and teaching of chest clearance techniques in community health centre settings.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the theory of pulmonary rehab with experience preferred but not essential. Candidates must also have a good knowledge of common respiratory conditions and how they present.

The key skills required for this post are good clinical assessment and problem solving skills, the ability to communicate across all age ranges, organisational skills, the ability to deliver regular presentations to groups of patients, motivational skills where barriers to exercise exist, flexibility and enthusiasm as well as the ability to work as part of an expanding team.

Full support, induction and training (in-house and external courses) will be offered to the successful candidate.

The post offers multiple opportunities to develop clinical, managerial and leadership skills.

A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
