Located in the vibrant University City of Cambridge, Mulberry 1 at Fulbourn Hospital provides exceptional career development opportunities in the assessment and recovery focused care of male and female adults experiencing difficulties associated with a range of acute mental illness. We are currently looking to recruit experienced, enthusiastic and motivated band 5 nurses to join our Mulberry 1 team , to provide an innovative and forward thinking service as we continue to improve our inpatient service.

Mulberry 1 is a 11 bed assessment and treatment focused ward within the Fulbourn Adult Acute 333 In-patient pathway. With an average admission of 3 days. we aim to provide a therapeutic environment offering planned care and treatment focusing on Psychosocial Interventions, group work skills, pharmalogical interventions and individual Recovery Plans.


We focus on proactive, targeted interventions to help people through the acute phase of their illness. We provide a safe, supportive environment to enable them to recover sufficiently to be able to function to their optimum level and face challenges back in the community

We believe in truly collaborative care, support and positive risk taking.

We are seeking to recruit caring and compassionate Mental Health and General Adult Nurses to provide high quality care to our patients on Mulberry 1 and in return we will provide you with excellent personal and career development opportunities.

Working within the acute care services at Mulberry 1, will give post holders the opportunity to practice a full range of core mental health nursing skills, physical nursing skills including wound care and also to gain experience in risk assessment, management and recovery focused interventions.
We are keen to support and develop our staff with CPD options and encourage promotional opportunities within the Trust. The service provides an in-house education programme and we have close links with Anglia Ruskin University.

The ward embraces ongoing training as a part of daily work. This includes both peer group training and profession-specific cascade learning.
We also offer regular individual and group supervision.
In addition, we offer a 4 day induction on commencement in post, a fully supportive preceptorship programme for all newly qualified nurses and professional leadership programmes for experienced staff nurses through the NHS Academy.
