Are you looking for career development in adult mental health specialising in acute crisis care?

We are currently recruiting to our innovative and dynamic Crisis Team in Peterborough and have an opportunity for a Band 7 clinical lead to help us develop the service.

The team offers a range of home based treatments as an effective alternative to hospital based care. We provide intensive, time limited, planned treatment and care 24 hours, 365 days a year. We work to support a culturally diverse population in the North of the Trust, providing services for service users and carers in Peterborough, Fenland and the Huntingdon area

We work closely with our award winning First Response Service, Acute Inpatient wards and community services within CPFT. We provide rapid response assessments to those at risk of being admitted to hospital and provide care, treatment and support within a community setting or facilitate admission to hospital and promote rapid discharge. Our Team is HTAS Accredited with the Royal College of Psychiatry ensuring the highest possible standards of care for our service users and carers.

Clinically, the post holder would require the ability to provide advanced psychological formulations and demonstrate involvement, planning and management of complex patients, as well supporting other Teams & services, regarding treatment and referral pathways. Other responsibilities would be to deliver reflective supervision groups for staff, individual clinical/ group supervision. As well as supporting, developing and delivering a training programme in conjunction with other acute care psychologists and also the ability to provide debriefing sessions, and individual/group support when needed.

The successful candidate will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. You will utilise research skills for audits, policy reviews and service development/research within the area served by the team/service. There will be an expectation to provide support and assistance to the Service Manager & Team Managers on methods of evaluating the work of the team including advising on suitable outcomes measures.

You will have access to regular clinical, managerial supervision to support you in your day to day work and will be required to work internal rotation of early, late and night shifts.

There is the opportunity for professional support and development in areas such as Non Medical Prescribing/AMHP training and leadership courses.

You will need to have a relevant qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy. We welcome applications from staff with varying levels of experience including ward & crisis based and offer relevant supervision and education to facilitate this transition.
