The Pharmacy Department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ambitious and forward thinking, striving to ensure that the patient is always at the heart of everything we do.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the role of Lead Pharmacist for Surgery due to promotion of the current post holder.

We are seeking an exceptional, creative and dynamic pharmacist with a proven track record of service delivery and innovation. The successful post holder will:

  1. Provide leadership for the pharmacy clinical services across surgery and Division A
  2. Manage the Directorate level Lead/Advanced Clinical Pharmacists and support them to deliver a clinically safe and effective service to our patients.
  3. Engage with the wider Division A team (e.g. Transformation teams , Operations Managers, Divisional Quality Managers, Lead Clinicians and Nurses) and represent Pharmacy at Divisional level meetings.
  4. Provide an expert clinical service to surgical patients.

CUH has a well-developed and respected clinical service including; independent pharmacist prescribers to respond dynamically to the needs of the hospital and its patients, wide ranging specialist roles, support for flagship pathways such as frail elderly, extended services to ED and emerging and established roles in clinics and biologics. We have a high level of commitment to staff development and actively encourage all staff to share their expertise widely to enhance the profile of the department. Opportunities to complete leadership courses are available for successful candidates as well as RPS Faculty Membership support.

You must demonstrate excellent leadership skills and be resilient. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills are also essential.

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £47.50. This fee will be deducted from your second month’s salary.
