Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. Following an NHSI initiative to establish 29 Pathology networks across England the University Hospital of North Midlands is currently working closely with Mid and East Cheshire NHS Trusts to establish a Pathology network across Staffordshire and Cheshire.


An opportunity has arisen to join the Colorectal Surgery team as an Assistant Personal Assistant (APA). This post is part time for 18.75 hours per week, core working hours Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm and flexibility will be considered and discussed at interview.

 

The Colorectal Surgery administration team are responsible for supporting 5 consultants, 2 speciality doctors & 3 colorectal nurse specialists

 

The post holder will be required to undertake medical audio typing to a high standard, providing secretarial and general office duties including phone calls/faxing/photocopying/emails and printing reports.  You will also be required to provide cover for the Personal Assistant team and also other roles within the Department as required.  The post holder will need to flexible in their working and process good time management skills.

 

Audio typing, excellent accuracy and organisational and communication skills are essential for this post, liaising with both the general public and colleagues including Consultant level.  The ability to work under pressure, to prioritise and to use one’s own initiative is also essential in this role.

 

The successful candidate will assist the PA in various tasks including RTT validation, ad-hoc requests from both clinic and admin staff within the unit and various departments within the Trust.

 

A knowledge of excel, medical terminology and experience using the internal ICS system is also desirable.
