Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) Band 4

£20,150 - £23,363 per annum inclusive of HCAS (Salary, 70% Band 4 Year 1 and 75% Band 4 Year 2)

2 Years & 5 months Fixed Term Contract

This is an exciting time to be working at the Royal Free London one of the biggest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, delivering care to more than 1.6 million people a year through our three main hospitals: Barnet, Chase Farm and Royal Free.

We are looking for four individuals to join our dynamic team, across our 3 main sites to train and become registered pharmacy technicians with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

To be considered you must hold at least four GCSEs at grade C (or above) in English, Mathematics and TWO Science subjects. As part of the selection process, candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to sit a functional skills assessment in numeracy and literacy.

The successful candidates will be expected to complete the training program within Pharmacy that leads to a professional qualification; a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians and registration with the GPhC. You will be required to attend college OR undertake distance learning, and in the workplace you will undertake a comprehensive in-house training programme provided by our own team. Progression from year one to year two of the course is dependent on successful completion of all assignments and assessments set in year one. You will have the opportunity to rotate through the different areas Pharmacy has to offer including dispensary, stores and procurement, manufacturing and work alongside our ward based pharmacy teams.

The successful candidate must be dynamic, self-motivated, willing to work hard, learn from a multidisciplinary team and a team player, with proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Excellent communication and IT skills, attention to detail and the ability to travel between the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust sites is essential.

The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.
