There has never been a more exciting time to join Cardiology at Russells Hall Hospital. We have listened to our current team and believe that first class , well-educated and supported staff are our best asset and recent investment and reconfiguration is allowing us to expand our nursing team.

You will be responsible for the educational development of all the nursing staff within this area, in line with national and local initiatives. You will also be involved in the planning and delivery of specialist education and training.

We are seeking a highly motivated Band 6 who brings sound clinical knowledge and experience in Cardiology. This is a challenging role in frontline NHS services. You must be a role model and extremely organised, supportive and able to communicate effectively. You will be able to work clinically alongside other team members and most importantly you will be committed to patient safety and the well-being of your staff.

In return we can welcome you to our dynamic and highly skilled team. No day is the same in our fast paced unit and we really are dedicated to providing first class care to our patients. Full training will be provided for the right candidate including Trust induction and a supernumerary period. There will be ongoing opportunities to develop.

The Coronary care unit has 8 monitored beds, the post coronary care unit has 16 beds, we have a cardiac catheter lab, a pacing/device room, a cardiac day case and a bespoke cardiology assessment unit. We are supported by a team of 8 consultants with planned further investment achieved to grow this number to 9.

This post is for 30 hours per week which will need to be worked within Monday to Friday to meet the needs of the service.

The Trust currently serves a population of around 450,000 people from three hospital sites at Russells Hall Hospital, Guest Outpatient Centre in Dudley and Corbett Outpatient Centre in Stourbridge. The Trust also provides specialist adult community based care in patients’ homes and in more than 40 centres in the Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council community providing excellent generic and specialist care closer to home, thereby proactively avoiding hospital admissions.

Our hospitals are among some of the most technologically advanced in the country, where state-of-the-art equipment and modern, purpose-built buildings combine to create the highest standards of patient care.
