Our Trust

Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust comprises Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge. We provide accessible high-quality healthcare for the local people of Cambridge, together with specialist services, dealing with rare or complex conditions, for a regional, national and international population. We have a world class reputation for excellent care, research and teaching.

Working in this speciality

As a Nurse in Children’s Services, you will be joining a diverse and stimulating area. Our work is wide ranging and we are well respected both locally and as a regional specialist treatment centre. We provide excellent care across Medical and Surgical specialities. Our ethos of child centred care and multi-professional collaboration drives our service, alongside a commitment to family focussed teamwork. We believe in supporting our patients, their families and our staff, and we offer a diverse range of dedicated paediatric psycho-social and clinical support services.

We have opportunities for you to join our dynamic and motivated team of nurses working in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology. CUH is a tertiary centre taking referrals from across East Anglia. Across our 24/7 inpatient and Monday to Friday day case and outpatient setting we provide care to patients at all stages of their treatment pathway from diagnosis, through complex chemotherapy and autologous transplant to follow up and end of life care.

There are many opportunities for learning and development and external study in the speciality.

We have an established trials and research department working alongside us who support the delivery of both national and international treatment protocols.
No specific experience in this area is necessary as we have a comprehensive development programme for qualified nursing staff that will develop your skills in this area.

We value our staff highly and you will be supported by a well developed practice development team. This includes Clinical Practice Facilitators, Research Nurses, Nurse Specialists and other members of the Multi- Disciplinary Team. We actively encourage our staff to develop and offer numerous opportunities to extend your skills and experience – we believe it’s best for the care of our patients and you.

Transforming care through eHospital

We have made a massive investment in eHospital – the first in the UK to use the work leading Epic electronic patient record. This will provide: information at employee’s fingertips; easy handovers from clinicians; documentation built progressively as care is provided; test results delivered back to clinicians without the need to chase. This will enable the delivery of care in a safer more effective way, enabling more time for our patients.

Benefits for you

• Opportunities for continuous professional development
• A wide range of benefits including on-site leisure facilities, shopping concourse, day nurseries and access to a great transport system with easy access to airports and rail travel.

To help you relocate to the historic university town of Cambridge, we are offering a £1,000 Welcome subsidy.
