An opportunity has arisen for an IT Service Desk Analyst to join the IT Department of the Great Western Hospitals Foundation Trust.  You will join the IT Service Desk based North Swindon Orbital Office (above the Library). 

The role of the IT Service Desk Analyst will be to answer all contacts from members of Hospital Staff in a timely manner and log these calls as Incidents or Requests as appropriate.  Where possible, all issues should be investigated, diagnosed and resolved on first contact but the Service Desk is supported by second line support groups and third party support where necessary.

To succeed in this post you must have an excellent telephone manner and experience of working in a busy environment, delivering first class customer service. Being able to record accurate information and prioritise work under pressure is essential, along with an aptitude to query information with customer to gain more details and establish facts. 

Ideally the Service Desk Analyst will need to have experience of supporting local and remote IT users from a Service Desk and a working knowledge of Windows 7, 8.1, Windows Server 2008/2012, 2008 Active Directory (AD), Desktop remote control software and Service Desk Incident management software.

The IT Service Desk is operational from 0800 – 1730 Monday to Friday (excluding Bank holidays) and the successful applicant must be prepared to join the existing shift pattern which enables the team to share the operational hours across the week.

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from your first pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be split and recovered over the first 2 pay.

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from payment.
