The Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre is transforming the way we care for people with a brain injury.

The Centre is a well renowned, established brain injury rehabilitation unit providing specialist in-patient rehabilitation for adults and adolecents (16+) with a traumatic or acquired brain injury.

The core aim of the service is to promote rehabilitation and recovery so that patients maximise their recovery potential and long term quality of life. We have a total of 52 beds across two units (Level 1 intensive neuro-rehab and Level 2 slower stream neuro-rehab.)

The service aims to provide exceptional care and rehabilitation, achieving outcomes for patients that are consistently above the national average.

The Hospital site is located on the outskirts of the historic City of Bristol and is located just off the M32 / M4. Bristol is the gateway to the South West within easy reach of the beautiful Cornwall and Devon coastline and excellent rail links to London.

Our Registered Nurses (RN/ RMN/RNLD) play an instrumental role in the lives of our patients, supporting and encouraging them to achieve their rehabilitation goals and personal aspirations.

Most patients are referred via NHS acute hospitals and community specialist teams. We play an integral part in contributing to new models of care and are compliant with the NHSE service specification for patients with complex rehabilitation need.

As a Registered Nurse (RN/ RMN/RNLD) working in our Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre your main duties will be:-

  • To identify care needs of patients, planning and implementing nursing interventions and evaluating outcomes of care given
  • To ensure high standards of evidence based nursing care are delivered consistently
  • To communicate information accurately on patient care to the patient, families, internal and external professionals, including Commissioners whilst maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the principles of Information Governance
  • To administer drugs and check preparations in accordance with Company policy and NMC guidelines.
  • To report and record incident and accidents in accordance with policy and procedures
  • To assist in the induction, development and supervision of, new and junior staff members, as required.
