Emergency Department - A&E

Salary: £39,332 - £45,534 per annum, incl HCAs

We are passionate about Emergency Nursing and the service we provide to ensure that our community is given the healthcare they deserve. The Emergency Department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital sees approximately 75000 patients every year. To support and enhance the care we provide to patients due to promotion we are looking to recruit dynamic nurses to join our busy team.

This is an exciting time to join the Emergency Department as we are currently in the final stages of a £7.8 million expansion and refurbishment capital project due to open in July 2019. This project provides us with new Majors, Paediatric and Minors areas all with increased capacity. This will benefit both patients and staff with a new dynamic environment for improved patient pathways and staff wellbeing.

This increased capacity will support the increase of 5.5% in our attendances seen in 2018/19 and with a further growth forecast of 2.8% in 2019/20, we are well placed to provide continued excellent care into the future.

Our multi-disciplinary team is motivated, energetic and we strive to deliver the highest standards of evidence based nursing care. Quality improvement is a key part of this, and actively encourages all members of the team to be involved. A celebrated piece of work with our partners SECAMB resulted in a 30% reduction in ambulance handovers delays of lost hours in 2018/19.

We are inviting applications for a band seven senior sister/charge nurse to join our dynamic team.

We are looking for a motivated committed, flexible, approachable experienced Emergency nurse who has management and leadership skills and excellent communication skills. Can you demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of current issues in the Emergency care within the NHS?  .  You will need to demonstrate up-to-date clinical credibility and have evidence of advanced clinical skills in practice

You must be able to work an internal rotation shift pattern of days and nights and thrive working in a fast paced environment. You must also possess good communication skills and be able to use your initiative.

If you like the sound of this exciting opportunity, we look forward to hearing from you!
