Your team will comprise of band 6 and band 5 Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Technicians and Helpers and you’ll have access to excellent administrative support. You’ll support both the stroke team as well as the outpatient rehabilitation centre Occupational Therapy staff as their team lead. You’ll be part of a wider acute Occupational Therapy team and we’ll expect cross team working anywhere in the department in times of service need. You’ll help the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist with delegated operational tasks and deputise for them as needed. We have a highly valued training programme of a locally developed in-service, core-skill and workshop based learning programme and you’ll benefit from the wider supportive Occupational Therapy network across health and social care, who meet regularly as a forum. We have excellent clinical and management supervision and you’ll also have access to participate in the Northern Stroke Rehabilitation Group. The department has access to a pool car for community visits, we also have a broad range of assessment resources and training facilities. The department makes use of EMIS as our standard IT documentation tool and are keen to develop effective paper-less ways of working where possible.

This is a role that is central to the strong MDT within the acute stroke service, you’ll lead your Occupational Therapy team through some exciting developments as well as having the freedom to lead on your own innovations and ideas, with support from the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. We’d be keen to hear from experienced Occupational Therapists with a strong ambition on driving quality, holistic patient care and excellent leadership characteristics. We’d like to hear from you if you have any queries or wish to visit the team – we promise a very welcoming environment!
