Locum Consultant Anaesthetist with a Special Interest in Anaesthesia

This is a locum post to cover for long term leave with a possibility to have a substantive post in the department of Anaesthetics at Barts Healthcare NHS trust, Newham University Hospital to match a planned significant expansion of the Orthopaedic services within the Trust with the development of a world class Elective Orthopaedic Centre at the Gateway Surgical Centre located on the Newham site.

The post is whole time/part time with a speciality interest in Anaesthesia for regional anaesthesia, the job is currently based at Newham at the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre (BHOC) which provides elective orthopaedic surgery for all of Barts Health sites across East London with plans to become the regional elective orthopaedic centre of choice. The role will also provide the opportunity for future cross site working at one of the other hospital sites within Barts Health NHS Trust including the Royal London at Whitechapel and the Whips Cross hospital.

The post is therefore ideally suited to someone with a speciality interest in anaesthesia for Orthopaedic surgery and Upper limb plastic surgery and the vision to join a team focusing on developing this service within East London.
