Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated on the Fylde Coast just a 45 minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary services in haematology, cystic fibrosis, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. We employ more than 6,500 staff, have approximately 900 beds and have a planned turnover in excess of £410m for 2017/2018.

This is an exciting time for the NHS across the Fylde Coast. We are at the cutting edge of developing new ways of delivering health services, with ambitious plans to integrate health and care across the area.

As part of this journey the two Fylde Coast clinical commissioning groups have come together, and the teams are now operating as one function under a single management team. This is the first step in the development of an integrated Care Home Pharmacist and Technician working for the needs of care home residents in the Fylde Coast NHS.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Pharmacy technician to work with a Pharmacist and care home team to support the delivery of medical prescribing and optimisation during this important period of change, and in particular to support the development of Healthier Fylde Coast, the local integrated care partnership.

1 post based at Cleveleys Health Centre

1 post at based St Annes Health Centre

You will use a range of clinical, engagement, and communications skills to support developing, implementing and evaluating the delivery of the Healthier Fylde Coast strategy and care home optimum model. Your focus will be to work collaboratively with neighbourhoods, care managers and resident families to improve patient care with developmental opportunities to increase job satisfaction. The post holder will be required to commit to the Medicines optimisation in care homes training pathway Funded by NHS England and provided by CPPE.
