Leeds Community Healthcare is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Children's Physiotherapist to join their Integrated Children's Additional Needs team (ICAN) at a Band 6 grade.

The team delivers services to children 0-19 years with complex needs and long term neuro/neurodevelopmental conditions. Children and families can access the service in a variety of venues including, health centres, schools, nurseries, Children's Centres, home settings and other community and NHS venues.

The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues from a variety of professions and external agencies in order to provide the best possible care for the children and families of Leeds.

We offer a comprehensive induction, ongoing clinical and managerial support from experienced specialist staff, regular in house training, as well as opportunities for involvement in service development.

This is an exciting opportunity for physiotherapists to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team and to develop their skills in this specialist area. There will be an opportunity to develop leadership and teaching skills with students and assistants within the service as well as with support staff from external agencies.

This vacancy is a 22.5.hour fixed term post for 12 months to cover maternity leave. If you are applying on a secondment basis, please ensure you have the approval of your Line Manager prior to applying.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

We are looking to recruit a physiotherapist who already has some experience working with children and wishes to continue to develop their clinical and professional skills in a forward thinking organisation that is committed to delivering high quality community focused care for the people of Leeds.

Successful applicants must have a variety of clinical experience including working with children. Excellent communication and team working skills are also essential with the ability to work under pressure using leadership and delegation skills as appropriate to manage their caseload.

If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48.83 or Standard £30) from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service.
