We have opportunities for 2 band 7 clinical psychologist, to join us full time on one year fixed term contracts. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, friendly, hospital-based team of psychologists. The child psychology team currently consists of eighteen psychologists. There are many opportunities for clinical supervision and CPD. Child Psychology is highly regarded and sought after within Paediatrics at UHS and we have excellent working relationships with the medical teams we work alongside.

There is some flexibility in how the sessions are allocated and so there is the possibility of fitting with people’s existing expertise or preferences. The role will include input to some of the following areas: general paediatrics, paediatric intensive care, sleep disorders, diabetes and Bursledon House.

As a team we place a strong emphasis on self-care and on supporting one another in our roles. This means that there are clear job plans and people are encouraged to maintain a good balance within their roles. The child psychology team provides a strong base from which we can give our best to the children and families we meet, as well as to our multidisciplinary colleagues. The positive working atmosphere and the opportunities for development mean we have a long track record of retaining staff within the team.

Experience of working with children and families and enthusiasm for collaborative team working is needed.
