Senior Mental Health Practitioner (Registered Mental Health Nurse – Band 6)

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated RMN to join our busy Community Mental Health and Recovery Team.

We are looking for someone who: enjoys and works well in a team setting and is also able to work independently; is committed to working within a client focused recovery approach; is able to work effectively in this demanding role.

As a Care Co-ordinator you must be able to: provide evidence based interventions to a broad range of people who have severe and /or enduring mental health needs; be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs, working within the framework of the Care Programme Approach (CPA); be responsible for the clinical management of a defined caseload. You will also assist with the triaging and response to incoming queries and concerns relating to the “team caseload.”

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop Structured Clinical Management skills to assist clients with a diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder. Specialist supervision is provided for this.

The team serves the population of the Furness Peninsula at the edge of the Lake District and has its base in Barrow-in-Furness. It is an established team with a friendly and supportive culture. There is a visible and supportive leadership team who are committed to clinical supervision and professional development

As part of our plans to strengthen the quality of mental health, learning disability and CAMHS services we are able to offer to patients in Cumbria, we are planning to transfer services in north Cumbria to Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (NTW) and services in south Cumbria to Lancashire Care Foundation Trust (LCFT) on 1st October 2019 subject to final approval.

This therefore means that if you are appointed to this post, your employment will transfer from Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to NTW or LCFT, but you will retain your current terms and conditions (including pay). More information on the transfer can be found on our staff website.

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
