In April 2019 we moved to a brand new hospital in Cambridge.

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the Pharmacy Team at the biomedical campus as a Bank Pharmacy Technician.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and dedicated Technical team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician who wishes to gain experience of working in many aspects of pharmacy and, for those with ambition, will give an insight into where you may want to specialise in the future.

This is a post that offers the opportunity to work in the following areas:

  • Dispensary
  • Satellite Pharmacy
  • Ward based

If you are a qualified Pharmacy Technician but have no experience of working in these areas or in a hospital you are encouraged to apply, as full training will be provided to enable you to develop your skills and knowledge to their full potential with the opportunity of progression to a band 5 if deemed competent. The Trust has a strong commitment to pharmacy technician training and development.

As well as full training within the rotational areas, the successful applicant if deemed competent will have the opportunity to gain a qualification in accuracy checking for Pharmacy Technicians (ACPT) if not already qualified.

The post could involve weekend, Bank Holiday and late night rota duties – by mutual agreement.

Summary of most important Experience/Skills/Qualifications required:

Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (NVQ) or equivalent qualification which enables registration with The General Pharmaceutical Council.

You must be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC or qualifying within the next few months with the intention to register with the GPhC to be able to apply for this band 4 to 5 post.
