To meet our expanding and developing AVP requirements we are now able to offer a further vacancy opportunity to join our existing dedicated AVP Operative teams within Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

This exciting opportunity for an AVP Operative is now available at Harrogate Ambulance Station.

A DRIVING LICENSE WITH C1 CLASS IS ESSENTIAL - You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a full C1 Category on your license.

This post is a 12.5 hour per week contract based on a 24 hour, 7 day a week rota system including Bank Holidays preparing our frontline operational vehicles. The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand, however we can confirm the current working days and times for this post are Monday to Friday 16:30hr to 19:00hr or 17:30hr to 20:00hr. Any unsocial hours payments are subject to current Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.

Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays.

Duties to include:

Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Operatives process ambulance service vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient. The role is a key operational support function, which ensures patient safety whilst supporting Operations in meeting its targets. Main duties include detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities, checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment, restocking all consumables and completing vehicle checks. Other duties include the preparation of consumables, stock control, re-fuelling and moving vehicles across various locations, recording all daily activities and the repatriation of equipment from Hospital Trusts.

The successful candidates must be flexible in their approach and convey a personal commitment to demonstrating the YAS values and behaviour's.

You must be reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and be able to work individually and as part of a small team.

No experience is required as full training will be given.

Our training package includes NVQ2 and NCFE.
