Day Treatment Centre

Recently rated overall as ‘good’ in its CQC and outstanding for care, Whittington Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Ward Manager for its Day Treatment Centre which is based in the purpose-built healthcare facility designed to put the needs of the patient first within the Islington hospital based acute site. As a provider of all elements of elective day treatment care with pre-planned surgery and diagnostic procedures under one unit, we are recognised by the Department of Health and the British Association of Day Surgery as being one of the lead providers of day surgery in the country.

To help us maintain a high standard of care we are seeking an experienced surgical nurse to manage our Day Treatment Centre who can provide excellent clinical leadership within a fast paced and busy department .You will be working within an established multi-disciplinary team culture with enhanced recovery processes for different patient groups and good learning and development opportunities for staff. The recent CQC noted that staff across the surgery service was friendly, caring and professional and patients told them that nurses and doctors had a caring approach and were treated with dignity.

Our 39 bedded Day Treatment Centre cares for patients undergoing surgery in a number of specialties, including Ophthalmology, Trauma & Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Gynaecology, Colo-rectal, General and Breast Surgery. We also cater for Paediatric urology and dental. We have four state of the art operating theatres and three endoscopy treatment rooms, plus an interventional imaging suite and minor procedure room.

For the right individual we are offering an exciting role in an integrated care organisation on its hospital site that has a reputation as one of the safest in England and won the CHKS patient safety award 2013. We also have a highly regarded educational role providing a range of educational packages for healthcare professionals and offer developmental training to all staff via a weekly bulletin
