Newton Lodge is a purpose built medium secure unit which has an excellent reputation for providing a high quality service to mentally disordered offenders across the Yorkshire and Humberside area. The unit has ninety beds. The centre provides the following specialist care areas:

 

  • Male Psychiatric Intensive Care (7 beds)

  • Male Assessment Pathway (15 beds)

  • Male Treatment Responsive Pathway(17 beds)

  • Male Enhanced Recovery Pathway(16 beds)

  • Specialist Women’s Pathway (15 beds)

  • Specialist Learning Disability Pathway (20 beds)

     

    We are currently looking to recruit skilled and highly motivated practitioners into the role as Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Senior Clinical Practitioner. These are exciting and dynamic roles that offer the opportunity for development within the role.

     

    The role of Senior Clinical Practitioner is 60% of the role and usually worked over two or three days per week. You will be an integral part of a ward team and provide strong clinical leadership, contribute to service development and the maintenance of high clinical standards. On a rotational basis you will also act as team leader for the unit, ensuring effective coordination and organisation of the unit and providing support to other teams, including leading the response team. As we are a 24/7 service, this aspect of the role includes a variety of shifts including weekends and night duty.

     

    The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)/ Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) aspect of this role is 40% and usually facilitated over two days per week. You will be expected to manage your own work load and also work as part of a team delivering a range of comprehensive group and 1.1 interventions in the relevant area. You will be appointed as a band 6 CNS and this will progress to a Band 7 ANP for this part of the role on successful completion of a range of competencies. The role can be started as a Band 7 to those who can demonstrate that they already hold the relevant qualifications, skills and competencies.
