We are currently seeking to recruit a number of Community Mental Health posts into the Kirklees Insight Service. The team covers the South Kirklees (Huddersfield) locality usually working with people aged 14 to 35 and stretches across adult and children’s services. The team forms part of the community service line within the Kirklees BDU.

If you are due to qualify in the next 3 months and have experience of working with an early intervention team or CMHT while on 3rd year practice placement we would welcome you to apply.

You need to be an individual who is self motivated, enthusiastic, and who has a desire to work to improve life chances of young people who may be experiencing their first episode in psychosis. This can require a lot of patience requiring keen skills in creative engagement. Part of the role will involve an element of health promotion within primary care and children’s services alongside other statutory and non statutory services. This having the aim of promoting the role of the insight team to capture appropriate referrals

It is essential to this role that you have a professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy to allow care management within the CPA framework.

The right value base and attitude is just as important to us as experience. Working within an early intervention team demands the ability to challenge traditional medical models and embrace a psychosocial approach to delivering care.

You need to be open to enhancing your current skills through in house training and the shadowing of team members. You must be willing to attend external training as required for the post..

If you are committed to empowering service users and their families and can be forward thinking around how to engage this vulnerable client group we would like to hear form you.
