Healthcare Support Worker- Nursing Apprentice Trust Wide

We are proud to offer our Nursing Apprenticeship scheme which provides the opportunity for you to progress towards a Registered Nursing position within a world leading Cardio Thoracic Hospital.

Our apprentice scheme starts with training as a Healthcare Support Worker whilst studying with Anglia Ruskin University. This provides you with both practical and foundational academic understanding to complete the required National Care Certificate.

On successful completion of your care certificate, you will begin your studies on the Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship programme which consists of one day per week for 20 months by either attending University or as a student within your clinical area. The remaining hours for that week will be spent working clinical shifts as a Healthcare Support Worker.

You will then have the option to apply for the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship programme which will be studied on average for two days per week for 22 months with the remaining hours being spent working as a Healthcare Support Worker.

At the end of the pathway and upon successful completion of Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship programme, you will be able to apply for Nursing registration, gain a place on the NMC register and apply for roles as a Band 5 Registered Nurse.

This is an intensive but rewarding training programme requiring commitment, passion and, above all, care.
