Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Medication Safety Pharmacist to join our Medication Safety team. This is an exiting and innovative post and offers a great opportunity for a highly motived individual to develop their experience in education and training, incident investigation, root cause analysis, risk assessment and clinical leadership. We are looking for an experienced hospital pharmacist with excellent communication skills who wants to develop their leadership and clinical skills in a specialist multi-disciplinary environment. You will spend approximately half of your time as Medication Safety Pharmacist working alongside our Medication Safety Nurse and supporting the Chair of the Medication Safety Committee. The remainder of your time will involve providing clinical pharmacy services to a range of paediatric specialties on a rotational basis. You will become an active member of the Trust's Medication Safety Committee, promoting best practice within the sphere of medicines safety and improving error reporting and learning. You will be encouraged to identify, develop and implement research/audit programmes and provide education and training to all members of the multi-disciplinary team. Although paediatric experience is preferable, it is not essential as full training and support from experienced mentors will be provided. For further information about this post, please contact Andrea Gill, Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager & Chair of the Medication Safety Committee (andrea.gill@alderhey.nhs.uk) or Catrin Barker, Chief Pharmacist (catrin.barker@alderhey.nhs.uk) or phone 0151 252 5683
