Job Reference: 175-1920-3S1739

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
3 South - Cardiology
Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Papworth Road, Cambridge
£37,570 to £43,772 pa

As the largest and leading specialist cardiothoracic hospital in the UK, Royal Papworth Hospital is dedicated to providing patients with the best possible care through the excellence of our caring staff.

In September 2017 the hospital was delighted to receive a royal title following approval from Her Majesty The Queen. Royal Papworth will become the first Royal Hospital in the East of England, in recognition of its pioneering history and continued commitment to developing the treatments of the future. We look forward to welcoming you to Royal Papworth and becoming part of our future.

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is located in a bespoke, purpose-built hospital on the world-class Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC). The Administrative Services are based in Huntingdon.

Royal Papworth Hospital is a specialist hospital providing a full range of adult services in cardiology, cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery and respiratory medicine and is the UK’s largest centre for heart and lung transplantation. This is an exciting time for you to come and join Papworth as we start to work in our new, state of the art facility on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

3 South is an exciting and dynamic environment where no two days are the same! There is a high volume and fast turnover of patients undergoing cardiac investigations and procedures. We also care for patients with complex cardiology needs including those that require a Coronary Care environment.

You must be a team player who is well organised but flexible and able to deal with ever changing priorities. We are looking for an enthusiastic and visionary nurse with proven leadership capabilities. Tact and diplomacy are essential when dealing with patients and their relatives. You will be focussed on delivering high quality patient care and be keen to introduce innovative ways of working.

This is a new position to strengthen the senior leadership on the ward and work alongside an existing ward sister. You must therefore be able to work in collaboration with other senior nurses to ensure the stability of the nursing team.

If you have these attributes and are looking for a rewarding yet challenging role within a friendly environment we will support you in your professional development.

An informal visit is highly recommended. If you require any further information, please contact Matron Donna Ward or Matron Lizzie Shillito on 01223 638000 bleep 649
