Midlands and Lancashire CSU is responsible for the decision making and commissioning processes, working closely with the Local Authority’s, on behalf of Staffordshire CCGs.

We are currently expanding our service and are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse with experience in Mental Health Nursing (RMN). This exciting new post for has arisen within Midlands and Lancashire CSU for an innovative and enthusiastic RMHN to provide support in the Assessment and Case management of complex individuals who have a Complex Mental health conditions and are either subject to detention under the MHA or entitled to aftercare under Section 117.

This will also include individuals from the same client group who are placed or require specialist placements.

The successful applicant will feed into the developing processes and procedures to ensure this client group are funded and reviewed in the most appropriate settings whilst ensuring they receive pro-active interventions in line with Identified outcomes. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and assessment skills; be resilient, able to work autonomously but also work as part of a team.

This post is based in Stoke on Trent but will involve significant travelling in and outside of the Staffordshire area in order to assess or review people placed in out of County Placements or detained in Hospitals.

An emphasis will be on ensuring the Individual is supported in the most appropriate placement, with the least restrictive environments and following commissioning guidance to ensure wherever possible that this is within the local area. Placement options and patient choice may require consideration through best interests’ processes.

The successful applicant will need to work collaboratively with our CCGs across Staffordshire as well as partner/independent sector colleagues to ensure quality services are delivered for this Client group
