Chief Executive Officer

Job Reference: 836-ACE2207

Employer:
Anglian Community Enterprise (CIC)
Department:
Executive Management
Location:
Colchester
Salary:
£120,000 per annum

Anglian Community Enterprise (ACE) Community Interest Company was created on 1st January 2011. We provide a range of community health and well-being services to the population of North East Essex. We are an employee-owned community interest company which means our staff own the organisation and although they do not receive any financial dividends, they are able to influence the decision-making of the organisation. In addition we reinvest any profits back into developing our local services and to support the local community. We have been awarded Independent Provider Status into the NHS Pension Scheme for the majority of our contracts.

Our vision is to be the leader in the communities that we serve, providing innovation, quality, and value for money as we deliver healthcare services that are accessible to all.

Our social mission is to maximise our role as a service provider, employer, purchaser, community member, partner and investor to improve the health and well-being of the communities in which we work. Our commercial mission is to provide effective, profitable, value for money services which meets the needs of our customers and support organisational growth

Our Values are: 1 Team, Action Orientated, Excellence in all we do, Community Focused. Further information about these can be found on the Key Benefits and Information sheet

Salary: £120,000 per annum, in addition a yearly 10% performance related payment (non-consolidated) is available based on achieving agreed objectives.

Due to retirement of our current CEO after long service, ACE is now looking for a leader of the highest calibre.

ACE delivers a wide range of community health and well-being services, mainly to the residents of North East Essex. Our services include adult community nursing and therapy teams, two community hospitals, four GP practices, a cross-Essex allied health professional service for adults with a learning disability, children’s therapies and various public health activities.

ACE is an unusual organisation. We are a social enterprise driven by our dual social and commercial mission to make a real difference to the health and well-being of the communities we serve, whilst making a fair and reasonable profit. All of ACE’s profits are reinvested back into our services and into the community.

Having emerged from the NHS in 2011, ACE is entirely owned by its employees. These play a highly influential role in ACE’s direction, its strategy and its leadership.

Leading ACE at this time is an exciting opportunity. Whilst change is in the air, this change is, for the first time in a decade or more, looking explicitly to strengthen and enhance the role of community and primary care services.

If you share ACE’s value and identify with its dual mission; if you have the imagination to define and communicate a compelling, long term vision for ACE; if you‘ve built the experience and expertise to chart how we achieve that vision; and if you possess the credibility, persuasiveness and political astuteness to energise our internal and external stakeholders alike, we would be very interested in hearing from you.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact:
