A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paediatric Nurse to join our well-established Gastroenterology and Rheumatology Teams. This post is a full time fixed term 1 year position. The initial purpose of the post is to facilitate the biosimilar drug switches for both Gastroenterology and Rheumatology patients.This project is likely to take approximately 3 to 6 months, following which, the remainder of the term will be in Gastroenterology.

 

The role involves being part of 2 large multi-disciplinary teams across Gastroenterology and Rheumatology, providing specialist care to the children and young people, (and their families). The post holder must be motivated, organised, have excellent communications skills as well as being a team player.They must also be able to recognise their own limitations.

 

While the post is mainly clinical in nature, the post holder must be familiar with Word and Excel.

 

The role will include providing disease and drug education, specialist education to other health care professionals, liaising with schools, GP’s and community nursing teams as needed.

 

You will also participate in preparing young people for transition when ready from SCH NHS Foundation Trust to adult services.
