An exciting opportunity has arisen to for both full and part time positions to join the Mental Health Liaison Team based in Kirklees and Calderdale part of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The mental health liaison team provides rapid assessment, support and information to people who are in an acute hospital (in accident and emergency or as an inpatient) and experiencing problems with their mental health. The team is based at two sites – Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary – and functions 24/7. Our team of staff are from a variety of different professions, so that they can offer the best possible care and advice.

The Mental Health Liaison Team Practitioners within the team are individuals who, alongside the expected clinical skill set, demonstrate motivation and innovation in the delivery of integrated physical and mental health services.

You must possess excellent communication skills and advanced assessment skills, including risk assessment and management. You should be able to demonstrate an ability to adapt to acute/changing situations and priorities being a team player with a flexible approach, and the ability to work independently.
