The Hope Service is offering an exciting opportunity to work as a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, in the Extended Hope Service, an integral part of the current Hope Service.

Extended Hope was launched in October 2015 as a satellite service from the Hope service which is commissioned to prevent or shorten psychiatric admissions and out of county placements. This multi-agency service provides support to 11-18 year olds who are suffering from mental and emotional health issues or have social and educational needs, and specialise in projects which often cannot be met by one agency alone.

Extended Hope was initially granted innovation funding as an out of hours intervention service for young people experiencing mental health and emotional crises and currently delivers a daily evening telephone and face to face assessment service provided by mental health nurses based in the home. It also provides 2 short term respite beds to respond to young people in crisis requiring respite in order to allow them to stay closer to their families and communities. The respite beds allow young people to be admitted to the home for up to ten days. It is a registered children’s home inspected by Ofsted.

We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Nurse who has the ability to think creatively when engaging and intervening with young people with complex mental health / social care needs in crisis. You will need 2 Years mental health nursing experience.




Please note that all salaries shown are based on whole time of 37.5 hours per week for non-medical roles and 40 hours per week for medical roles, part time roles are pro-rated accordingly.
