Are you a nurse who is passionate, conscientious and motivated to make a difference?

Ward 27 is a 29 bedded female medical ward who pride ourselves on our specialist skills that enable us to look after some of the hospitals most vulnerable patients. We provide specialist care to our patients with confidence and compassion. We have made many improvements over the past 12 months which are highlighted in our latest audits and ward accreditation report. We are a team who are proud of our skills and our determination to work together so that both patients and staff are safe and supported.

We are well known for our support given to students and preceptors, ensuring they feel confident and competent in their role, allowing motivated and driven staff to move along to their more specialised and desired roles. Ward 27 is definitely a ward that will provide you with all the skills and knowledge required to provide high standards of care to your patients. You will also be given opportunities to further your knowledge and experience as spoke placements can be offered to other areas such as Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding and Tissue Viability.

We have implemented a discharge tracker on the ward to help improve patient flow, accommodate discharges and prioritise patients within our specialty. This role has been a huge support to the nursing team as they now have more time to concentrate on giving care to those who are acutely unwell.

These posts are suitable for newly qualified applicants and applicants with post registration experience. This post will give you the opportunity to have a voice within nursing, have input into the priorities and strategies for ward 27, and that of the Trust as a whole. This will help drive us forward as an enthusiastic and inspirational team.
