Band 5 staff nurses– Newly Qualified

If you are due to qualify in the coming year, what better way could there be to start your career than at the UK’s largest specialist heart and lung hospital?

At Royal Papworth Hospital, we have opportunities for new graduate nurses in our Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgical and Specialist Respiratory Medical Wards as well as in Critical Care, Cath Labs and Ambulatory Care. All these areas provide specialist investigations and treatment to people with heart and lung conditions from within the Eastern region, across the UK and overseas. This treatment is underpinned with excellent nursing care so this is where you can develop your nursing and leadership skills whilst being at the cutting edge of cardiothoracic innovation.

You will have the opportunity to join a team as a Preceptor and will be fully supported by the staff and Clinical Education team to develop into the registered nurse role and flourish in the specialty. You will have regular non-clinical developmental sessions throughout your first year and be able to access a wide range of educational opportunities. You do not require cardiothoracic experience as all training will be provided. At the point of selection we will discuss your field of interest and place you in the most appropriate area.

If you are passionate about providing excellent care and are committed to going that extra mile for your patients and colleagues, we would like to hear from you.

As a nurse at Royal Papworth you will be part of an internationally renowned centre of excellence, you can get a taste of what you could be involved in on our main website and further detail about individual wards in the Nurse Recruitment section.

If you have undertaken a placement at Royal Papworth during your training, please refer to this in your supporting statement and name the ward or department Sister or Charge Nurse as a referee in your application.
