Immunophenotyping Department Head of Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Clinical Scientist/Healthcare Scientist to lead the Immunophenotyping Team, part of the SIHMDS laboratories based at the Sutton site of the Royal Marsden Hospital.

 

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced candidate committed to providing scientific leadership and direction as the Head of the Immunophenotyping Laboratory, helping to deliver a state of the art flow cytometry diagnostic service, to maintain UKAS accreditation, and to develop clinical research opportunities.

 

The successful candidate would represent the laboratory both nationally and internationally ensuring its excellent reputation is maintained. The successful candidate should have completed a recognised clinical scientist training programme, or equivalent qualification and be registered to practice with the HCPC or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 year experience in flow cytometry This is a full time post based in Sutton.

 

The post holder will be expected to have to be involved in all aspects of service delivery including participating in Haemato-Oncology MDT’s, SIHMDS integrated report meetings, teaching, audit, scientific liaison and to network and collaborate with external laboratories and colleagues. In addition, there will be ample opportunity for personal development.

 

This is an exciting time to join the department as we are in the process of tendering for a new flow cytometry solution; a perfect opportunity to get involved.
