The Wirral is easily accessible to major airports and has excellent transport links including motorway, train, bus or ferry and within easy reach to the major cities of Liverpool, Chester and Manchester as well as neighbouring North Wales.


The Trust is currently seeking a Divisional Director to support the Chief Operating Officer’s Team in the Women and Children’s Division, as part of the triumvirate with the Associate Medical Director and the Divisional Director of Nursing.

The Trust serves a population of more than 350,000 people across Wirral and the surrounding areas of Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales, you will be an inspiring and credible operational leader with the energy, drive and determination to successfully respond to the changing expectations and needs of the NHS.

The successful candidate will lead and provide direction to their teams focused on the delivery of high quality patient care, in turn driving a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and strong performance.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in trust-wide strategic developments internally and externally, working with other health, social care and commissioning partners to enhance our reputation as acute provider of choice and to develop and implement our extensive transformation programme.

The primary purpose of this role is to work together with the Associate Medical Director (AMD) and Divisional Director of Nursing (DDoN) to develop, direct and lead modernisation, service improvement and performance strategies and policies to support the delivery of patient care for the Division. Leading the operational performance of the Division, implementation of business development and planning; performance management strategies and commercial development strategies that are consistent with the Trust's need for business efficiency, effectiveness, flexibility, value for money and high staff morale.

As an effective and active member of the Operational Management Team, this post is required to assist the AMD and DDoN in leading the development of a vision for the future including: transformational change, where this will achieve improvements in the quality of care; the development an organisational culture which is open to and empowers innovation and creativity and learning, at ward and department level.
