An opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Genetics department for a Band 4 Medical Secretary Team Lead.

 

As a Medical Secretary, you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties, which include booking appointments, typing and processing clinical letters, reports, case summaries and other correspondence as required by the medical team.

 

The ideal candidate must be highly organised with exemplary prioritisation skills, be able to work against tight deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role. You must have a knowledge and understanding of patient confidentiality and be flexible in your approach to working.

 

It is an interesting and varied role and we’d like to find someone who enjoys the challenge of a busy working environment.

 

You will have regular interaction with patients and also be required to maintain good working relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff. You will be expected to understand and contribute towards a high standard of patient care. You should have a high level of communication skills, with the ability to use your own initiative and have a flexible approach to work.
