CLINICAL TEACHING FELLOW IN MEDICINE

12 month post

This innovative full-time teaching post provides an opportunity to develop teaching skills and undertake clinical research or career development. This Trust is the most advanced in the development of Clinical Teaching Fellows. Fellows play a key role in the design, development, delivery and assessment of undergraduate teaching. There are no on call commitments. The flexible timetable can be tailored to provide training in medicine or related specialities, according to the needs of the successful applicant. The post is also negotiable in terms of duration, but would normally be fixed for one year.

Applicants are likely to have completed a period of training at ST1, ST2 equivalent with a view to applying for Specialist Registrar (ST3) posts in the future. Although MRCS is desirable, it is not essential. However, this is a flexible post which offers excellent career progress opportunities to some overseas doctors, as well as those wishing to develop their curriculum vitae for UK Specialty posts.

The successful applicant will be invited to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare and Biomedical Education (based on seat availability ) and will be eligible for an Honorary Lectureship at St. George’s University of London. The post will be based at Epsom Hospital, and you would have links with 8 other Fellows.
