A vacancy for a Principal Group Psychotherapist Band 8B has arisen in the forward thinking City & Hackney Specialist Psychotherapy Service based at Vivienne Cohen House, 2 Crozier Terrace, London E9 6AT. This service is part of the East London NHS Foundation Trust offering assessment and psychological therapy to a secondary care population with complex and often comorbid presentations, including treatment resistant depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, complex trauma and Personality Disorder. A number of treatment modalities are offered within the service including cognitive, psychodynamic, individual, group, couple and family therapies, as well as more intensive programmes for individuals with Personality Disorder that are delivered according to a Mentalisation-Based Therapy model .

 

The post-holder will be based in the Psychodynamic Therapy team within the service and will be responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing the Group Psychotherapy treatment pathway. More specifically, s/he will provide specialist assessments, maintain a group caseload, offer specialist clinical supervision to junior colleagues and honorary therapists, and oversee the waiting list for group psychotherapy treatments. As a member of the Specialist Psychotherapy Service senior management team, the post-holder will also take on some senior management/operational responsibilities as and when required.

 

We are looking for an energetic, motivated, flexible and creative clinician with significant experience working as a mental health professional with theoretical, clinical and practical knowledge of delivering group psychotherapy and psychodynamic interventions within an NHS context.
