An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Clinical Practitioner, who has experience of working with Personality Disorder/Complex Trauma, to be part of a small team for a one-year pilot scheme. The aims of the pilot are to increase the accessibility and effectiveness of mental health treatment and support for individuals who may have been underrepresented in the past. This includes individuals with co-existing conditions which mean engaging with more traditional mental health support has been challenging. The target population for the pilot are individuals who have one or both of the following co-existing issues, alongside mental ill-health: substance misuse, homelessness/rough sleeping.

 

 

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Social Worker to join this project. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 4 years post qualification experience. There will be two band 7 practitioners in the team, one based in the City & Hackney Primary Care Mental Health Liaison Services and the other within the local substance misuse service. The post holder will support the difficult to engage individuals who may present to a number of services but struggle to maintain contact. They will also /liaise/ consult and offer support to other teams/staff working within the system, this will be across both statutory and non-statutory services throughout the borough. The post holders will need to be prepared for challenging but exciting work, which requires them to have a high level of internal emotional resilience, an excellent understanding of working within the NHS and a desire to support the development of the service.

 

 

 

The successful applicants will have experience with and an interest in working with service users who have mental needs related to Personality Disorder/Complex Trauma and Substance Misuse. S/he will be based in the City and Hackney substance misuse service as well as the psychotherapy service.
The post holder will offer brief (3-6 months) modified psychodynamic/therapeutic interventions, to work effectively with the problems encountered by the targeted population. They will receive supervision from the psychotherapy MBT and Outreach Service.

 

 

 

The successful applicant will be expected to hold a caseload of patients.
A psychological focus is central to the work to develop a formulation of the difficulties which may support the individual or the other professionals who often come into contact with them.
The service as a whole aims to promote excellence and innovation in the provision of care to service users with challenging and complex presentations.
All candidates must hold a live registration with a professional body allied to their Core Profession.
