An exciting opportunity has arisen for a receptionist to join the team in the endoscopy unit at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation (UHS).


The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills with a professional and pleasant manner. You will be a very valuable member of the team and assist in the provision of a high standard reception service welcoming patients and relatives to the department. A flexible approach to working routines, the ability to do a variety of tasks at one time and to work within a team and also alone is essential.


This is a very busy role, working with complex systems and with a large and varied workload. We are therefore looking for someone enthusiastic and excited to take on a new challenge.


You will be responsible for registering of patients on to the hospital computer systems and ensuring all patients personal matters/records are dealt with in a confidential manner. You will be responsible for preparing all information required for the running of the unit each day e.g. referrals, label printing.


The post holder will be required to work flexibly Monday – Sunday between the hours of 7.45am and 8pm working on a basis of 7.5 hours per day but you may be required to work an evening or weekend with prior notice.


You will be required to attend and maintain regular training courses and to follow the policies and procedures set down in the department.


Previous experience of working with NHS systems is desirable but training will be provided to enhance the post holder’s skill set.
