An opportunity has arisen to join a small, friendly and dedicated team within the GI physiology department at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). The department is open from 8am until 6pm; Monday to Friday however weekend working may be required in the future. Staff will be required to work flexibly between these hours. This is a 9 month fixed term contract.


The department sees patients with upper and lower gastro-intestinal and colorectal disorders. The role of the Healthcare assistant is to facilitate a smooth patient pathway through the clinic, chaperoning and enhancing the patient experience.


The post holder will work closely with a multi-professional team across:


    • Gastoenterology


    • Colorectal surgery


    • Administrative team




We will provide you with training across all clinical areas, in addition to you receiving support from the education lead for the unit.

This post requires flexibility and versatility. We are looking for a caring, motivated individual who possess excellent communication skills and embraces our Trust values. Experience in, or an understanding of gastroenterology would be advantageous.
